Japan Soca Weekend is Asia's largest Soca music (Caribbean music) festival held every September in the Kanto region of Japan (Tokyo, Chiba). This festival features 5 individual events over the course of 4 days. Many Soca music fans and Caribbean people from all around the world come to Japan to enjoy this music festival. If you would like to experience Soca music and Caribbean culture we invite you to come and enjoy.

J’ouvert in Japan is back from 2023!! This year the border is opened, and we are ready to improve J’ouvert in Japan in every way possible! Get ready for an experience of a lifetime!

• New foam machine!! For the first time we’re introducing foam to J’ouvert in Japan
• New custom-built outdoor showers, allowing for multiple persons to shower at once.
• New hand washing stations
• New expanded venue use. We now have an indoor eating area. Enjoy your meal inside before you start partying. No more eating in the sun.
• New indoor area for your belongings. Please no valuables
• We are also bringing back our J’ouvert in Japan backpack for 2023!
• Electronic payment accepted: PayPay, Cashapp, Credit cards.

o   We discourage the use of cash due to the nature of the event.

Additional Event Information

• Outdoor shower area on site. This is to remove paint before returning to the bus or private vehicles. There will be a maximum of 5 showers. We kindly ask that patrons use the showers appropriately to expedite the cleanup process.
• limited car parking available. Free for cars with 5 occupants. There is a 1500yen parking fee for cars with less than 5 occupants.
• Private bus to venue available from Shinagawa Station, Tokyo. 
• If using the bus, please bring a change of clothes, towel, footwear, and clean up before returning to the bus. Patrons not cleaned, will not be permitted back on the bus. Damage to the bus is strictly prohibited
• If you're not from the Tokyo/Chiba Area, and do not have a car, we STRONGLY recommend you take our bus. J’ouvert is in a remote location and it will cost more taking public transportation to get to the venue.
• Belongings can be stored in the indoor eating area. Your J’ouvert in Japan bags will come in a variety of colors. In addition to using your name tag, remember your bag color for easy pick-up after the event. Please do not leave valuables. SIJ is not responsible for any belongings.
• Patrons are asked to strictly adhere to instructions of all SIJ personnel. Damage to the facility, bus, or any material will not be tolerated and patrons may be asked to leave
